A dementia-stricken great-grandmother who was refused a bus experience misplaced each of her legs after she was pulled beneath the automobile, a court docket has heard.

Joan Scott, then 83, was not allowed to board a bus close to her residence in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear, in September 2021 after the motive force claimed to have recognised her as somebody who beforehand couldn't produce their bus go.

Newcastle Crown Court heard that Scott Cliff, 49, the motive force of the Go North East bus, closed the doorways on Mrs Scott as she tried to board after ready for somebody to get off.

But her strolling stick - which was fixed to her wrist - was caught within the doorways when Cliff drove off.
