The companion of disgraced ex-Tory MP Peter Bone has been chosen because the Conservative candidate to switch him within the Wellingborough by-election.

Helen Harrison, who's a Conservative councillor in Wellingborough's North Northamptonshire space, was chosen by members of the get together on Sunday afternoon, based on get together chair Richard Holden.

An election is being held after Mr Bone was discovered by parliament to have subjected a workers member to bullying and sexual misconduct. He has denied the allegations.

Mr Bone has had the whip suspended from him, that means he sits as an unbiased MP within the Commons, relatively than a Conservative one.

Mr Bone has been the MP for Wellingborough in Northamptonshire since 2005, and was re-elected with a majority of 18,540 on the final election in 2019.
