Double youngster killer Colin Pitchfork, who was beforehand let loose after which recalled for approaching ladies on the street, will be launched from jail, the Parole Board has stated.

He was jailed for all times after raping and strangling 15-year-olds Lynda Mann and Dawn Ashworth in Leicestershire in 1983 and 1986.

He was the primary man convicted on DNA proof after a prolonged investigation involving the taking of genetic proof from 1000's of males.

In 2021, Pitchfork was released in June after which arrested and recalled to prison five months later after approaching younger ladies on the street.

The parole board stated it had decided it "was no longer necessary for the protection of the public for Mr Pitchfork to remain confined and thereby directed his release".

It stated his launch can be topic to the next licence situations:

Alberto Costa, MP for South Leicestershire, stated he was "deeply disappointed" by the choice and stated he would write to justice secretary Alex Chalk to ask that he search an "immediate and urgent review".

The Conservative backbencher wrote on Twitter: "It is simply unthinkable that a man who committed such egregious crimes should ever be released, and I will be asking the Government to challenge this decision in the strongest possible terms."

He added: "this man still presents a very real danger to the public".
