Firefighters tackling a forest fireplace have issued dramatic footage from the scene - and confirmed they count on to stay within the space for days to return.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight County Fire and Rescue Service together with Forestry England attended the scene in Star Hill in Hartley Wintney, Hants, on Sunday, June 25.

When they first introduced they had been on the scene, at round 7pm, crews urged households within the Hampshire space to keep away from the scene.

They later revealed 16 home equipment - made up of fireside engines and help autos - had been concerned within the efforts to include the fireplace.

Around 15 hectares of woodland was mentioned to have been caught up within the inferno.

Forestry England officers labored to create "fire breaks" to include the flames.

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service spokesman mentioned: "Multiple crews tackled a large fire in the open near Star Hill, Hartley Wintney."

The service added: "Crews remain onsite of the fire at Hartley Wintney that has affected approx 15 hectares of woodland.

"Thank you to Forestry England who've been helping to create fireplace breaks. Plans for in a single day are being put in place."

Hartley Witney Fire Station crews revealed they expect to remain "in a single day and within the coming days".

A spokesman said: "Multiple crews have spent the afternoon coping with a big forest fireplace in Warren Heath Plantation, Star Hill H/W. Crews will stay on web site in a single day and within the coming days.

"At its height, this incident went 'make pumps 16' with numerous support appliances also attending."
