Fears James Bulger's killer might be out of jail 'in weeks'

A killer who kidnapped, tortured and killed a two-year-old boy has been granted one other parole listening to.

The toddler's physique was discovered on a railway line a couple of miles away two days after the kidnapping.

The killers had been launched, with new identities and lifelong anonymity orders, in 2001.

However Venables was recalled to jail in 2010 and once more in 2017 - on the second event for possessing indecent photographs of kids.

Venables, now aged 40 and in HMP Frankland in County Durham, might be launched once more inside a matter of weeks if parole is granted, the Sun reviews.

Both James Bulger’s dad and mom, Denise Fergus and Ralph Bulger, are understood to have written statements opposing Venables’ launch.

Denise has beforehand spoken of her need for her son’s killer to not be set free of jail once more.

Alex Chalk, the Justice Secretary, is known to carry the same view, with one supply telling the Sun it was unlikely Venables can be paroled.

However, one other supply informed the paper:  “Venables is buoyant as he believes this is his best, and possibly his last, chance of freedom.
