Firefighters in Edinburgh have rushed to the scene to sort out an enormous blaze with photographs from the scene exhibiting giant plumes of smoke filling the sky. Both South Bridge and North Bridge are believed to be blocked, in response to Edinburgh Live.

Currently, the total scope of the hearth and any potential casualties stays unknown.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed their presence on the scene however has not offered further data at current.

A resident who was on the scene advised Edinburgh Live: "The whole of south bridge is closed and there are about eight fire engines plus dozens of police and ambulances."
