The 52ft boat, stated to have been employed to rejoice a birthday of British vacationers, overturned throughout a “whirlwind” on Lake Maggiore on Sunday night.

Lake Maggiore has suffered poor climate over the past day, with Italy’s meteorological service issuing thunderstorm warnings.
The UK Foreign Office stated: “We are in contact with local authorities in Italy after a boat accident and are ready to provide consular assistance to any British nationals involved.”
