igi Hadid has been fined 1,000 Cayman Island {dollars} (£920) after being arrested for hashish possession within the Cayman Islands.
The 28-year-old mannequin, who has been a number of Netflix competitors present Next In Fashion, was arrested alongside along with her good friend Leah McCarthy on July 10.
According to the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control, the pair had been arrested for “the importation of marijuana and importation of utensils used for the consumption of marijuana”.
Hadid and McCarthy had arrived on a personal jet from the US, the place their baggage was searched and a small quantity of hashish was recovered.
They appeared within the Cayman Islands abstract court docket on July 12 and had been charged with the importation of a managed drug and the importation of a drug utensil, to which they entered responsible pleas.
They had been charged 1,000 Cayman Islands {dollars} (£920) and no conviction was recorded, authorities stated.
A consultant for Hadid stated she was “enjoying” the Cayman Islands regardless of the arrest, and that the hashish had been bought legally in New York “with a medical licence”.

In a press release shared with the PA news company, Hadid’s consultant stated: “Gigi was travelling with marijuana purchased legally in NYC (New York City) with a medical licence.
“It has also been legal for medical use in Grand Cayman since 2017. Her record remains clear and she enjoyed the rest of her time on the island.”
Hadid started her modelling profession aged two after being found by Guess co-founder, the Moroccan-born designer Paul Marciano.
