A globe-trotting teddy that was by chance left behind on a mountain in Scotland will quickly be reunited along with his delighted proprietor after being rescued by a hiker.

Alastair Tyson feared Mini Tyson can be misplaced without end after leaving the bear behind on the summit of Buachaille Etive Beag close to Glencoe.

Camera-shy Mr Tyson normally makes use of the tiny mascot as his stand-in for enjoyable footage.

The pair have climbed 50 Munros collectively, with the teddy even becoming a member of Mr Tyson on his honeymoon.

Mr Tyson, 33, advised Sky News: "He's been on my honeymoon, so he is been to Italy.

"He's been to Rome, Florence and Venice. He's been to France and all around England. He was supposed to go to New York, but I actually forgot to take him on that trip."

Mr Tyson, who's initially from Castle Douglas in Dumfries and Galloway however now lives in County Durham, gained Mini Tyson at a faculty fete round 10 years in the past when he was a instructor.

Mr Tyson, a studying designer, issued a name for assistance on social media and was over the moon when he obtained a message to say the teddy was discovered protected and sound - albeit a bit moist after spending per week within the nice outside.

He is now ready for Mini Tyson to be posted again residence.

A money reward provided for the return of the bear shall be donated to an area playgroup on the request of the rescuer.

Mr Tyson stated he was "overwhelmed" with the outpouring of help following his submit.

He added: "Social media can be quite a dark and horrible place, so to see all this positivity come through is actually just quite nice."

Mr Tyson shall be heading to Ullapool within the subsequent couple of weeks along with his dad to deal with some Munros, and he hopes Mini Tyson shall be residence in time to hitch them.

He stated: "If I can get him back by then, that would be quite good to get him out on the next adventure."
