Crossbench peer Lord Hope of Craighead stated they had been being requested to say Rwanda was a secure nation “from that very moment” that the Bill got here into power and stated his modification offered an “escape clause” if it was to grow to be unsafe.
He stated: “That is so... whether or not or not Rwanda at a while sooner or later ceases to be secure... with no room for any escape.
“The Secretary of State is required by Clause 2, all the time, conclusively to deal with Rwanda as secure. If the noble Lord, the minister, will forgive me, his head is buried within the sand, a bit like that of the proverbial ostrich."
