Humza Yousaf snapped when requested if he can be cheering on the Lionesses on the girls's soccer World Cup closing.

England's girls will tackle Spain on Sunday after beating hosts Australia on Wednesday.

But the Scottish First Minister and SNP chief appeared pissed off when requested throughout an interview with Radio Clyde News if he can be supporting England of their first-ever World Cup closing.

He initially mentioned he can be watching the match earlier than backtracking and saying he was "busy".

Mr Yousaf mentioned: "Look I will be watching the game for sure. I wish the Lionesses every bit of luck."

The reporter then pressed: "But not necessarily cheering them on?"

Shaking his head in an exasperated method, he mentioned: "Cheering them on if you wish.

"Look I do not know why you are so obsessive about who I'll be cheering on.

"I'm not even sure if I'll be able to watch the game or not watch the game given that I'm busy of course on Sunday.

"But if I do get to look at the sport then I want each groups the very best of luck."

Mr Yousaf then said "truthfully" as he walked away from the camera.

Scottish Tories deputy leader Meghan Gallacher shared the awkward clip on Twitter and wrote: "Oh pricey."

Mr Yousaf's predecessor Nicola Sturgeon hailed the Lionesses after their Euros win in 2022.

She tweeted: "Brilliant. And simply goes to point out…if you need one thing performed (or in *England flag emoji* communicate, 'introduced house') ask the ladies! Many congratulations - well-deserved champions!"
