An investigation has been launched after an enormous blaze engulfed a spa in Ipswich within the early hours of Friday morning.

Two firefighters have been pictured standing near a scorching tub as they battled to extinguish the blaze.

The roads have now reopened however crews stay on the scene, Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service stated.

Providing an replace, incident commander, group supervisor Sally Hammond stated: "We have been referred to as to a severe fireplace at Riverhills Spa at about 12.20am final night time.

"Crews were here very quickly and established that there was a very serious fire that had occurred in the swimming pool area of the building.

The spa has posted an announcement on Facebook that it will likely be closed on Friday.

The spa also thanked customers for their understanding and said it would provide a further update as soon as possible.
