Ireland seal their place in 2024 Men's T20 World Cup

Ireland have certified for the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup, after rain washed out their match against Germany within the Europe Region Qualifier in Edinburgh. The washout put Ireland on high of the seven-team desk with 9 factors - 4 wins and a no-result from 5 video games. Scotland are themselves on the verge of sealing the other qualifying spot from the regional event. They have four wins from four games, and a net run rate of 5.732 that is far above that of Italy (-1.388), the only other team that can theoretically match their points total. For this, Italy will need to win both their remaining games - against Austria and Germany - and hope that Scotland lose both of theirs, against Denmark and Ireland.

Ireland and Scotland gained automatic entry into the Europe Region Qualifier thanks to their participation in the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia. Germany and Jersey made the Qualifier on the basis of taking part in the 2022 global qualifiers, while Austria, Denmark and Italy earned their spots by winning their respective sub-regional qualifiers.
