Jermy Hunt's brother has died from most cancers simply weeks after the Chancellor opened up about his household's battle with the illness. 

Charlie Hunt, a father-of-three, died final week aged 53 following a years-long battle with Sacoma, a uncommon and aggressive type of most cancers that always develops in limbs.

Jeremy Hunt also alluded to his family experience during an interview with the Daily Mail in late July, when he told the publication about a mole he discovered while serving as a cabinet minister that "grew and grew". 

He said he had "very good" treatment from the NHS to remove it, adding he was "very conscious of members of my family who've had a lot harder battles towards most cancers".

He added: "I do know that is what households are going via up and down the nation."

Mr Hunt's father, Royal Navy Admiral Sir Nicholas Hunt, died from most cancers in 2013 aged 82.

And his mom, Lady Meriel, died from the illness in 2022 aged 84.
