The US President gave a speech to gun security advocates on the National Safer Communities Summit in Connecticut on Friday night.
Mr Biden, 80, advised attendees {that a} storm was heading into the realm and subsequently he could be unable to shake arms with them.
He mentioned: “I will stand in front of each section – no, I really mean it – if you can see the camera they can see you. It is the least consequential part of this whole meeting for you, I promise.”
Then simply earlier than placing down his microphone, he added: “All right? God save the Queen, man”.
His critics have been fast to leap on the phrase and “God Save the Queen” was quickly trending on Twitter.
But different Twitter customers identified that Mr Biden has used the phrase earlier than to finish his speeches.
The White House press workplace reportedly clarified Mr Biden’s remarks in an e-mail, saying: “He couldn’t do the full ropeline due to weather, and was commenting to someone in the crowd.”
