Just Stop Oil protestors are raging as police attempt to regain management of environmental activists blocking roads throughout London to make sure legislation and order throughout the capital metropolis. Since April 24, Just Stop Oil has induced “significant disruption” on the streets of London, irritating drivers and passengers making an attempt to get across the capital throughout commuter rush hour. And in current video footage, Met Police officers have been filmed ordering activists off of the roads.

Footage exhibits an officer ordering the protestors to get off the roads and onto pavements beneath Section 12 of the Public Order Act.
The video, uploaded by Just Stop Oil on May 1, exhibits police approaching the protestors. The officer mentioned: “A Section 12 condition has been imposed on this march under the Public Order Act by Chief Inspector Scammell. The condition that has been put on the march is that you have to march on the pavement. If you don’t, people that are marching on the road will be liable for arrest.”
The protestor asks for the Bronze Commander, questioning how he'll know Section 12 has been issued. The Police Officer reiterates the data together with the identify of the inspector who has authorised it, together with the time.
Pressed for additional particulars, the officer added: “The order is you can protest. But you can only protest on the sidewalk.”
The video then cuts to Chief Inspector Scammell turning up on the scene including there was “significant disruption” from the march, after assessing cameras and TfL. He additional provides the march should “proceed on the footway”.
The Public Order Act 1986 states that situations might be imposed by police “as to the route of the procession or prohibiting it from coming into any public place specified within the instructions".
It comes after a Just Stop Oil protestor appeared to be knocked over by a car while protesting in the middle of Holloway Road.
In a further video uploaded to Just Stop Oil’s Twitter on May 2, two separate matches were “forcibly” removed from the road at Parliament Square onto the pavement under Section 12 of the Public Order Act, with officers guiding protestors off the streets.
In a press release issued on May 2, the activists said: “We will stop the campaign the moment the government halts licensing any new fossil fuel projects in the UK.”
A-level student marcher, Noah Crane, 18, from Norfolk said: “We have seen time and again that words are not sufficient to bring about necessary social change. The people who are both the most powerful and the most greedy in the world are making billions from selling our futures they aren’t going to stop just because we ask nicely.
"We need to demand it. If all through all of human historical past, there has ever been a time to take motion, it's now.”
55 supporters started marching from Regent Street and Parliament Square at 7.30am this morning and Just Stop Oil activists have been slow-marching day-after-day since April 24. They proceed to take motion as they name for the Government to cease licensing new fossil gas initiatives within the UK.
