Conservatives MPs face being pressured to vote on the reintroduction of proposed animal welfare laws ditched by the federal government final month.
Labour will use considered one of its opposition days in parliament to carry a binding vote on the Animal Welfare (Kept Animals) Bill.
When the federal government scrapped the bill last month, it stated it was involved Labour would amend the laws to "widen the scope" of the legal guidelines and "play political games".
