An enormous rescue operation is underway within the English Channel after migrants had been thrown into the water after their dinghy started to sink.

A lifeboat, Border Force Ranger and a French warship have all been scrambled to the center of the Channel in a bid to stop one other tragedy.

Rescue groups are at the moment making an attempt to ascertain what number of asylum seekers have been plunged into the water.

Some of the migrants are feared to nonetheless be on the dinghy's wreckage.

The Daily Express has been informed an alert was put out to each ship and vessel within the space to help the rescue ships.
