Police have launched a homicide investigation after a girl was discovered lifeless in a woodland in Birmingham final night time.

A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of homicide.

In an announcement, West Midlands Police mentioned: "We've arrested a person on suspicion of homicide after a girl was discovered lifeless in Ladywood final night time, Tuesday 1 August.

"A lady was discovered with critical accidents in woodland off Freeth Street at round 8.45pm. Sadly nothing may very well be executed to avoid wasting her."

Officers stay on the scene whereas investigations proceed.
