Gary Neville has recommended that Sir Alex Ferguson prevented him from talking up concerning the Glazers when he performed for Manchester United.

Neville has been a distinguished public identify in calling for the Glazers to promote up in recent times.

But fears of how Ferguson would react made him much more reluctant when he was employed by the membership.

He stated: "I was focused on playing football, and Sir Alex Ferguson, to be fair, would have probably got rid of any footballer if they started talking about the owners. We didn't do that, we were employees, and we got on with it.

"They got here to the coaching floor as soon as, and some occasions after successful the league title, they may pop within the dressing room. I by no means had a protracted dialog with any of them."
