Festival season is upon us – and whereas music lovers could also be left soggy from the occasional downpour of rain, they're much less prone to get their palms moist from correctly washing them. A ballot of 1,500 adults, aged 18-24, revealed that, throughout a three- to four-day competition, 26 % will wash their palms simply as soon as a day, if in any respect.

And 22 % admit they do not wash their palms in any respect at a competition – with one in ten of the opinion that: “It's a festival, I don't need to”.

Other prime causes given for swerving the cleaning soap and water embody a scarcity of washing amenities (44 %), and easily not being bothered to attend in a queue to wash up (28 %).

More than three in ten festival-goers (31 %) do not even wash their palms after going to the bathroom, whereas 53 % confess to not doing so earlier than consuming.

However, half of these polled (49 %) are fully oblivious to only how a lot micro organism is floating round at festivals – with bathroom door handles, shared water bottles or condiment bottles, and wrist bands among the many hotspots for such germs.

“And that’s it – go wild, have fun, be daft, and enjoy hanging out with your friends. See you at the main stage!”

A way spokesman added: “Festival season is the biggest calendar moment for all-out summer fun. However, a lack of hygiene facilities means that some unfavourable bacterias thrive amongst music-loving Brits.
