A seven-year-old boy has been described as a "credit to his family" after dialling 999 when his mom collapsed at residence.

Ronnie-Lee Gray's quick-thinking actions meant paramedics may arrive at their residence in Tilbury in Essex swiftly after his mom Becky Gray fell ailing.

Ms Gray was recovering from surgical procedure and had low-blood stress, and was informed by workers in accident and emergency: "Your son is a very clever boy."

Essex Police organized for Ronnie-Lee to go to his native station as a thanks, the place he met officers, who stated he confirmed "maturity far beyond his years".

Thurrock engagement sergeant, Amelia Moore, stated: "Ronnie confirmed maturity far past his years in serving to his mum that day and clearly averted a doubtlessly worse end result.

"We were delighted to host Ronnie, he was a real pleasure and a credit to his family."

Ms Gray stated she was "so proud" of her son's fast pondering, including: "I'm extraordinarily happy with my son, and I'm very happy he is getting this recognition for what he did.

"There's not a lot of people of that age who would know to do that and to act in the way he did.

"For him to have the ability to ring up 999 and provides his full particulars and keep calm, it is superb."

Essex Police additionally praised name handler Ruth Potts, with Adam Taylor, drive management room supervisor, saying: "Praise must also go to call handler Ruth Potts, whose manner and professionalism with Ronnie ensured we had help in place for his mum as quickly as possible.

"Ruth is an impressive name taker and a credit score to the drive.

"This call illustrates the variety of incidents we at the Essex Police control room deal with on a day-to-day basis, facing huge demand and persevering with care and patience."
