Nigel Farage hit out on the TRIC Awards after a tweet asserting his win disappeared.

The politician-turned-broadcaster picked up the news presenter of the 12 months gong on the Television and Radio Industries Club ceremony yesterday.

The TRIC Awards shared a tweet shortly after his win on the prestigious occasion on the Grosvenor House in London.

But the GB News presenter accused the organisation of taking down the congratulatory message after it vanished this morning.

The tweet was later reposted however particulars of the sponsor weren't included.

In a video shared on Twitter, Mr Farage branded it a "disgrace" and urged it was as a result of he "committed the cardinal sin in broadcasting by questioning the Barb figures".

The former Brexit Party chief took goal on the approach TV rankings of programmes are compiled by the Broadcasters' Audience Research Board in his victory speech at Tuesday's ceremony.

In his submit, he branded the transfer a "disgrace", saying: "Well it would seem I've committed the ultimate cardinal sin in broadcasting by questioning the Barb figures.

"By questioning the truth that the business owns the very organisation that charges its programmes.

"Well today, TRIC, the organisation that put together the awards yesterday, they deleted their tweet announcing that I'd won news presenter of the year.

"It would appear that every one of those individuals hate the British public, it isn't me they hate, it is the those that voted for me they hate, and that is why the entire thing wants an enormous shake-up."

After the TRIC Awards shared a new tweet, Mr Farage said: "The TRIC Awards have now redone their tweet. Democracy wins!"

Discussing the issue on his GB News show later, the presenter said he "merely could not imagine it" when he could not find the original tweet this morning.

He said: "I commented clearly on it, and tons of of individuals took to social to say, 'Do you not respect our votes?'

"Over a million people took part in this process. This was the first year that TRIC had opened the whole thing up to be just the public voting without the committee themselves having a big influence over it.

"Well after my protest and people of others, the tweet was put again up. Interestingly although it was completely different to the primary time spherical.

"Now they put up a nice picture of me standing there with the trophy and a pint, but you'll notice the difference between the first tweet and the second tweet is that Screen Hits, the sponsor of this category, wasn't involved in the second tweet."
