Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher is voicing bulletins on Manchester's tram community this week. 

The Mancunian star will present transport data to Metrolink passengers whereas town hosts the Beyond The Music pageant.

More than 100 artists will probably be acting at 17 venues throughout town from Wednesday to Saturday - together with a day of free live shows culminating in a secret gig.

Gallagher's bulletins additionally mark the launch of the Bee Network - the primary domestically managed bus service in practically 40 years.

Mr Burnham added: "It means a lot to us that Liam has agreed to do this and show his support for his home city.

"Supporting our music venues and giving folks cheaper and higher public transport to and from our gigs is what we're all about.

"I am sure that Liam's dulcet tones will wake up a few early-morning commuters, brighten up many a journey, and produce a lot of smiles along the way."

The pageant goals to focus on new music and grassroots venues and develop expertise and infrastructure help.
