Penny Mordaunt gave Labour each barrels as we speak over claims the Government isn't getting a lot enterprise performed.

The Commons chief insisted ministers are "using our time well" as she branded Sir Keir Starmer's occasion "obstacles" and "blockers".

Ms Mordaunt was responding to criticism from shadow Commons chief Thangam Debbonaire.

Ms Debbonaire mentioned: "It was incredibly frustrating to see this worn-out Tory Government shut up shop and clear out of here before 2pm on Tuesday.

"The House has repeatedly risen early for months due to skinny Government enterprise. How are Tory ministers spending their time? Because they're clearly not delivering of their departments."

But Ms Mordaunt insisted ministers "are delivering, and we're utilizing our time properly".

The Conservative Cabinet minister, who stole the show with her sword-carrying role at the King's Coronation last month, went on to annihilate Labour.

She said: "Rather than Labour who're billing themselves as some sort of dynamo standing up for hard-working households, they've constantly demonstrated their lack of help for hard-working households.

"Not so much up the workers but stuff the workers.

"No condemnation of hard-left unions coordinating strikes bringing distress to hundreds of thousands of British residents.

"No condemnation for the extreme protest tactics of Extinction Rebellion or Just Stop Oil who get in the way of hard-working people trying to get to work, collecting their kids from school or getting their loved ones to hospital.

"Labour has constantly voted to weaken the Public Order Act and so they have voted towards defending the general public.

"While we have been strengthening police powers to lock people up, Labour has been promoting the merits of people locking on.

"They have all the time obtained in the way in which of individuals getting about their enterprise and so they've turned the nanny state into an artwork kind."

Ms Mordaunt said that where Labour are in power they are "getting in the way in which once more".

She said: "In Wales relatively than assist you get a GP appointment, the Labour authorities are attempting to cease you from shopping for a meal deal.

"In London, their Mayor is frustrating businesses and hiking household taxes in the ill-thought-out, unravelling ULEZ scheme.

"Labour are obstacles and they're blockers, they are a load of previous bollards."

Ms Mordaunt said that if the shadow cabinet wants to "disprove that" they should do three things.

She said: "They ought to arise and condemn the protests of Just Stop Oil, they need to hand again their related donations and they need to do their thirty fourth coverage U-turn of the 12 months and reverse their illogical stance on North Sea oil and fuel which is a barrier to our nationwide safety, progress and funding, growing family incomes, and our potential to chop emissions."

Ms Mordaunt finished by adding: "As I say, a load of previous bollards."
