Former Brexit minister Lord Frost has mentioned that the UK remains to be caught up in EU pink tape because the Government “seems to have lost control”.
He told Express.co.uk on the National Conservatism convention in Westminster that Business Secretary Kemi Badenoch’s determination to reduce the number of EU regulations being scrapped by the tip of the 12 months was wanted and she or he shouldn't be “blamed” for the climb down.
He mentioned: “I think the problem is that the Government seems to have lost control of the bureaucracy in these areas.
“I don’t really blame Kemi on that. She had only been in three months, and I think three ministers over the last year in that department, they had just lost their grip.
“Obviously, the job was not going to get done so something had to be decided as an alternative. It’s a great pity we are in that situation but I am not surprised. It’s the losing the grip which is the problem, not the decisions which have been taken.”

He added that ministers “must not take their foot off the gas”, explaining: “They mustn’t give up reforming the laws that remain and keep moving forward.”
Lord Frost additionally warned that the phrases of the Conservatives have “lost value” as ministers have “failed to deliver” on points talked up about.
