Presumed human stays have been recovered from the wreckage of the Titan submersible, the US Coast Guard has stated.
It comes after debris from the craft was brought ashore earlier on Wednesday.
Five males, together with three British residents, died when the submersible suffered a "catastrophic" implosion while attempting to view the wreck of the Titanic, officers consider.
In a press release, the US Coast Guard stated: "United States medical professionals will conduct a formal analysis of presumed human remains that have been carefully recovered within the wreckage at the site of the incident."
Captain Jason Neubauer, who's main the investigation into the tragedy, added: "I'm grateful for the coordinated worldwide and interagency assist to recuperate and protect this very important proof at excessive offshore distances and depths.

The three British residents on board have been billionaire Hamish Harding, and businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son Suleman.
Shahzada's spouse said on Tuesday that the pair have been "best friends" who "belonged together".
