She said: “I was so afraid my father would kill me, I knew I had to tell someone. I showed an adult the six bruises on my spine. I think it was a school counsellor. I said, ‘you can’t let me go back to my dad’. I can’t remember if it was the beating I got over a printer or a uniform.
