Real Madrid have lodged a hate crime grievance with Spanish prosecutors over racist chants hurled at Brazilian participant Vinicius Jr throughout Sunday's match at Valencia's Mestalla stadium, the membership stated in an announcement on Monday.
"Real Madrid C.F. shows its strongest rejection and condemns the events that occurred yesterday against our player Vinicius Jr," it stated.
The assaults, in its view, "constitute a hate crime" for which the membership has filed a grievance with the State Attorney General's Office, the membership stated.
Separately, the Movement Against Intolerance (MCI) and the Association of Spanish Soccer Players (AFE) stated in a joint assertion they'd additionally filed a grievance with the identical prosecutor's workplace, citing racial slurs in opposition to the Black participant.
