Ryanair boss Michael O'Leary has been hit within the face with cream pies by environmental protesters.

The airline chief laughed - and sarcastically remarked "well done" - after two girls splattered him exterior the European Commission headquarters in Brussels on Thursday lunchtime.

Video footage confirmed that the primary lady approached Mr O'Leary - after which stated "welcome [to] Belgium" earlier than she smeared the dessert in his face.

She then shouted: "stop the pollution of the f****** planes" as a second lady threw one other pie in his face.

The pair then walked off.

It got here as Mr O'Leary, who was unhurt, was making ready to carry a press convention and hand in a petition to fee president Ursula von der Leyen.

He tried to snort off the incident afterwards, telling reporters: "I love cream cakes, they are my favourite."

The airline boss later added: "Delicious cake, is there any more?"

Mr O'Leary stated greater than 1.5 million individuals had signed his petition, which requires flights over Europe to be higher shielded from air visitors management strikes.

It comes following disruption to flights earlier this summer time resulting from industrial motion in France, which forced the airline to cancel 900 journeys in June.

Ryanair later uploaded a photograph of the incident on X, previously generally known as Twitter, and stated: "Shame it was soy-based cream, definitely not as tasty as the real stuff."
