Fiona Bruce challenged an SNP MP about chaos in his personal occasion after he ranted about Boris Johnson on tonight's BBC Question Time.

Glasgow East MP David Linden launched a blistering assault on Boris Johnson and the Conservatives following the discharge of the Privileges Committee's partygate report.

The SNP politician insisted that the "chickens have come home to roost".

But Ms Bruce turned the expression spherical on him as she highlighted how the SNP has been hit by a disaster with the police probe into its funds.

In his rant, Mr Linden stated: "The actuality is that the Conservative Party entered an settlement with Boris Johnson.

"They knew superb effectively the man was a gambler, the man was any individual who took dangers, he was all the time a bit inventive with the reality.

"But you now have the three most senior individuals on the prime of the SNP arrested and questioned by police."

Mr Linden said: "We've had this course of ongoing for 2 years now, there have been three arrests and no costs.

"I think it's absolutely right that we are transparent and go through with that process."

The presenter stated: "Well you can't hide it, it's there for all to see. There was a big tent in Nicola Sturgeon's front garden."

A rattled Mr Liden replied: "There's also the 1981 Contempt of Court Act which I'm sure you wouldn't want me to breach on your programme because unlike Boris Johnson I respect the rule of law and I'm not going to breach contempt of court."

Ms Bruce stated: "I'm not asking you to. I'm simply saying you're talking about chickens coming home to roost, this is not the easiest time for the SNP either."

The SNP insisted that the nationalist occasion is "getting on with the day job".
