Rishi Sunak has hailed a significant post-Brexit breakthrough, because the Prime Minister finalised the post-Brexit commerce settlement with Australia at the moment. Mr Sunak met with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese this morning, because the landmark deal between the 2 nations comes into drive this month. The Prime Minister mentioned the deal will "boost innovation and increase highly skilled jobs across the UK".
He mentioned: "As some of our closest allies, and greatest friends, I am delighted our first built-from-scratch trade deals are with Australia and New Zealand.
"These landmark offers squarely ship on my priorities to drive financial progress, increase innovation and enhance extremely expert jobs throughout the UK, making certain we and our closest mates proceed to prosper for generations to come back."
Business and Trade Secretary Kemi Badenoch added: "With these two offers the UK is utilizing our standing as an unbiased buying and selling nation to tailor agreements to our nationβs financial strengths.
"Alongside our recent conclusion of talks to join CPTPP, the government is forging a bold new future alongside the worldβs most dynamic and fast-growing economies.

The UK concluded its talks to join CPTPP last month, which will grant the UK access to a trade area worth Β£9 trillion.
The UK and Australia signed a free trade agreement (FTA) in December 2021, the first "new" UK commerce deal signed since Brexit.
The deal will take away most tariffs on commerce between the UK and Australia when it comes into drive.
It is predicted to extend UK GDP by 0.08 % or Β£2.3 billion a 12 months by 2035.
