The sixth version of the Tabebuia Open Wheelchair Tennis event, an occasion on the Indian Wheelchair Tennis Tour (IWTT), will begin on the Padukone Dravid Centre for Sports Excellence right here on Wednesday. The four-day occasion is sanctioned by the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and held below the aegis of the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA).
The occasion carries a complete prize purse of βΉ3.5 lakh, and is offered by the CSR arm of L&T Technology Services. A complete of 41 entries, together with eight girls, from six states will compete within the event.
The star attraction shall be 15-year-old Gujjala Raju, amongst Indiaβs youngest wheelchair tennis gamers, it was introduced at a press convention right here on Tuesday. Β
Sunil Jain, IWWT Chairman, former Davis Cup participant Prahlad Srinath and Peter Burwash International Tennis Academy Head Coach Cesar Morales attended the press convention. Padma Shri awardee Somdev Devvarman joined through video convention.
