Police are in search of three males after a teenage lady was "dragged into a car and sexually assaulted". The incident occurred close to Newtonabbey procuring centre in broad daylight north of Belfast at round 2pm on Saturday. Police are interesting for witnesses as a full investigation has been launched.
Detective Sergeant Lyttle mentioned: "Police received a report that at around 2pm a teenage girl was approached by three men in a dark-coloured vehicle outside a shopping centre in the Longwood Road area of Newtownabbey.
"While the automobile made its method in the direction of Belfast, the lady was sexually assaulted."
The victim is then understood to have been released by the men at which point she sought assistance.
"The automobile stopped inside the neighborhood of the Royal Avenue space and the sufferer was set free. She then raised the alarm for assist", Detective Sergeant Lyttle continued.
Police have since appealed for witnesses to come forward in a bid to identify those involved in the incident, urging "anybody that would assist" to reach out.
"A full investigation is underway and we're eager to listen to from anybody that would assist with our enquiries.
"We would especially like to hear from anyone who noticed or has dash-cam footage of a dark-coloured car that was travelling along the Shore Road towards York Street and on to Royal Avenue between 2pm and 2.30pm. The car may also have had tinted windows.
"Anyone with info can contact police on 101 quoting reference quantity 1104 of 13/05/23."
