A person has been arrested after a woman was allegedly raped in a park in south Yorkshire. The teenager stated she was with a gaggle of buddies in Eastwood Playing Fields, Rotherham, at about 9pm on Thursday.

The teen alleged she was then attacked and raped by a person within the park within the Eastwood neighbourhood of the city, off Eldon Road and Hardwicke Road.

South Yorkshire Police had launched a CCTV attraction for info.

The pressure stated in a tweet on Saturday: "Officers investigating the reported rape of a teenage girl in Eastwood on Thursday have now made an arrest.

"Thank you to everybody who shared our earlier CCTV attraction, it’s actually appreciated!"
