Police have launched an pressing enchantment to hint a terror suspect who escaped from jail.

Daniel Abed Khalife, 21, was on remand at HMP Wandsworth, London, going through trial for terror and Official Secrets Act offences. 

He is believed to have made his escape on Wednesday morning, with a Prison Service supply instructed the Sun that he escaped when he sneaked out of the kitchens and clung to the underside of a supply van.

Khalife had been accused of planting faux bombs at a army base. He denied all prices.

The Met Police confirmed to Express.co.uk that security has been increased at Glasgow Airport and Manchester Airport to attempt to catch the phobia suspect.

The 21-year-old, who has hyperlinks to the Kingston space, was final seen sporting a white t-shirt, crimson and white chequered trousers and brown metal toe cap boots.

He is of slim construct, has brief brown hair and is round 6ft 2ins tall.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police instructed Express.co.uk: "An alert was issued by the Counter Terrorism Command earlier today in relation to Khalife through established operational briefing channels to relevant UK police and law enforcements agencies, including those at UK ports and borders."

Commander Dominic Murphy, Head of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command stated: "We have a team of officers who are making extensive and urgent enquiries in order to locate and detain Khalife as quickly as possible.

"However, the general public may also help us as nicely and may anybody see Khalife, or have any info as to the place he is perhaps, then please name 999 instantly.

"I also want to reassure the public that we have no information which indicates, nor any reason to believe that Khalife poses a threat to the wider public, but our advice if you do see him is not to approach him and call 999 straight away."

A Prison Service spokesperson stated: "We are working with the Metropolitan Police to recapture this prisoner and are urgently investigating how he escaped."

In February, Westminster Magistrates' Court heard he allegedly left faux units at MOD Stafford "with the intention of inducing in another the belief the item was likely to explode or ignite".

A 2021 court docket look heard he "elicited" private details about troopers from the Ministry of Defence Joint Personnel Administration System.

The info was "likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism", the court docket heard.
