Tragedy as teenage boy dies after falling from bridge on M6

A teen has died after falling from a bridge onto the M6 motorway.

Police have been known as to junction 21 close to Warrington, Cheshire, at round 9.40pm on Thursday, August 17. Officers say the preliminary calls indicated there have been issues for the boy's security.

The carriageway was closed whereas emergency providers have been on the scene. The street reopened at round 5.40am on Friday, August 18 - round eight hours after the primary name.

Cops have now confirmed the boy fell from a bridge. Despite the very best efforts of emergency providers, he was pronounced useless on the scene.

Sergeant Russell Sime, of the Serious and Complex Collision Investigation Unit at Cheshire Constabulary, stated: "This was an incredibly tragic incident. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the boy who sadly died at the scene.

"We believe the boy may have been struck on the carriageway after falling from the bridge. It would have been dark at this time of night, and it is possible that drivers on the motorway could have been unaware.
