Two passengers have been rescued from their automotive after it grew to become wedged beneath a lorry. The two occupants, a person and a lady, have been travelling alongside of their blue Audi TT after they had a collision with a HGV.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police stated: “We were called to Alderflat Drive, Trentham, at 4.50pm on Sunday following reports of a collision. A blue Audi TT had become stuck underneath an HGV following a collision.

“We went to the scene alongside firefighters from Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service who managed to rescue a man and a woman from inside the car."

They added: “They were not seriously injured. A woman was taken to hospital as a precaution. Both vehicles have since been recovered.”

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service stated: “We were called at 4.41 pm on Sunday to a road traffic collision involving a car and an HGV on Plantation Road. One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a Critical Care Car from Midland Air Ambulance and a BASICS emergency doctor attended the scene.

"Upon arrival, we found two patients, a man and a woman. The woman had sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She received treatment from ambulance staff at the scene and was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further assessment.
