Two younger individuals have drowned at a magnificence spot in East Yorkshire.

Four different individuals had been rescued from the lake between High Eske Nature Reserve and Pulfin Bog Nature Reserve, Tickton, on Wednesday evening.

Police and hearth crews had been referred to as to the emergency at round 7pm.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service stated "tragically the incident resulted in two young people losing their lives".

A press release from the service stated: "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with the families and friends at this difficult time.

"Crews from Humberside Fire and Rescue Service, Humberside Police, and Yorkshire Ambulance Service had been in attendance and labored collectively.

"A further four members of the public were rescued from the reserve by Humberside Fire and Rescue Service using a boat and Humberside Police deployed diving teams."

The space was closed on Thursday as police and the fireplace service continued to analyze what occurred.

Warning about risks of open water

"The service would like to stress the importance of remaining safe around open water and the clear advice from the emergency services is that people should not enter the water," a spokesperson stated.

"Open water such as ponds, rivers and lakes etc are highly dangerous and people should not enter them."

It comes after 16-year-old Tyler Wilson drowned within the River Calder close to Castleford in West Yorkshire after stepping into hassle within the water.
