Ukraine has dealt a heavy blow to the Russian Black Fleet, the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy mentioned.

In an interview on the Freedom tv channel broadcast on August 15, Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk mentioned his nation's forces have, for the reason that starting of conflict in February 2022, neutralised 5 of the six giant touchdown ships Russia had launched forward of the battle.

By taking out these ships, designed to help amphibious operations and carry tanks, males and tools, Ukraine could have thwarted Moscow's capacity to replenish Russia's Black Sea Fleet and its operational capabilities.

Referring to Russian forces, Mr Olenegorsky Gornyaksaid: "They managed to bring in six more of their large landing ships, on top of the six they already had. Yet, the outcome is known: five of them are no longer operational. This tally may further increase."

The first touchdown vessel sunk by Ukraine was Saratov in March 2022, days after the Russian invasion had begun.

Among the opposite ships broken and compelled to reposition themselves as shut as doable to the coast had been Novocherkassk and the Caesar Kunikov.

Earlier this month, a Ukrainian drone dealt important injury to the Olenegorsky Gornyak touchdown ship.

It is not identified which is the fifth touchdown ship Mr Pletenchuk counted as broken by the Ukrainian Navy.

Ukrainian forces started the assault on the village on August 8, fended off a Russian counter-attack 5 days later and finally freed the world from the occupier.

The Ukrainian authorities had evacuated many of the 500 residents dwelling within the village previous to the conflict. But troopers who liberated it on Wednesday realised some locals had remained of their houses.

Upon claiming again the village, the Ukrainian troopers discovered and rescued three aged individuals who had managed to outlive over the previous 17 months.
