Kane Williamson has not given up on enjoying an element in New Zealand's 2023 ODI World Cup marketing campaign as he takes his restoration from a proper knee damage on a "week-to-week" foundation.

"Very much just trying to keep it week-to-week at the moment," Williamson mentioned on Monday. "I haven't had such a long-term injury before but talking to other people that have, the journey is a bit of a long one so if you look too far ahead, it probably can become a little bit daunting.

"Whereas, one week at a time, ticking off these small markers, these little wins which are good to expertise. But additionally understanding that the journey will not be utterly clean and you've got a number of setbacks alongside the way in which that you must navigate."

Williamson, 32, who has scored 6554 runs in ODIs at 47.83, said any training he was doing was "elementary" at the moment and he looked forward to getting back in the nets.

"Probably extra for sanity and altering issues up... simply good to combine up all of the health club work and the physio work and rehab particular stuff to spend a little bit of time with among the different guys which are coaching," he said. "Super eager to get again within the nets, for positive."

The World Cup shall be performed in India in October and November.
