Alejandro Davidovich Fokina was 8-5 up in a last set tiebreak towards Holger Rune after virtually 4 hours on courtroom. The Spaniard had already didn't convert two match factors on the sixth seed's serve earlier within the set.
Rune stormed again to win the subsequent three factors in a row and Davidovich Fokina suffered an enormous lapse in judgement, hitting an underarm serve. His opponent received the purpose and went on to shut out the match consequently.
