A coastguard crew from St Agnes in Cornwall had been referred to as out to Trevaunance Beach on Sunday after a BMW automobile was washed out to sea. The incident occurred at round 8.30am, after the automobile's homeowners parked the BMW on the seaside. The rescuers had been tasked with ensuring all of the occupants of the automobile had been secure.

According to Cornwall Live, they stayed on the scene till the BMW was recovered from the ocean.

Video taken by rescuers exhibits the automobile floating within the water at fairly a substantial distance from the seaside.

It's unclear how the automobile ended up within the sea, however it was finally retrieved at 10.19am.

Describing the rescue on its Facebook web page, St Agnes Coastguard Search & Rescue Team stated: "Callout 16 Sunday 28th May 2023 0829hrs Trevaunance Beach - St Agnes.

"Team tasked to the Trevaunance Beach automobile wash to ensure all occupants had been out of the automobile and secure.

"We remained on scene whilst recovery efforts were made and the vehicle was finally removed.

"Team stood down and returned to station at 1019hrs."

In a cheeky comment, they added: "You can’t park there sir!"

The post attracted unsympathetic comments from social media users, who ridiculed the car owners.

Geoff Searle said: "Ah, the foolish season has nicely and really arrived."

Alan and Jenny Parker wrote: "Did somebody neglect to inform the tide that BMWs can park wherever they need?"

Andy Catrell joked: "Well there's a hosepipe ban on."

"Keep your budget for when people actually need help.

"Absolute shame not humorous anymore. Why ought to locals must put up with it."
