A health fanatic – who labored out practically every day, did not smoke, and barely drank alcohol – was shocked to study of her colon cancer prognosis.

The youth employee, who lives in Australia, first realised one thing wasn't proper when she observed specks of blood in her poo.

"The doctor was very dismissive," Vanessa claimed to 7news. "I felt like I was overreacting, I felt silly."

Vanessa stated: "It got to the point where I was just passing blood. But I was told there was nothing they could do until I got a colonoscopy."

Initially placed on a two-year wait record for testing, the scan was moved ahead when Vanessa complained of different signs.

Vanessa revealed she was affected by extreme cramps and a change in her bowel actions.

When medical workers investigated, the staff found a peach-sized tumour in Vanessa's rectum.

"I just went blank. I had no words," Vanessa stated of the second she obtained the life-changing prognosis.

"I remember saying, 'I just want to go home.' It's such a horrible feeling sitting in a room and being told you have cancer."

Told to freeze a few of her eggs earlier than remedy, for fertility functions, Vanessa then underwent a seven-hour op to have the tumour eliminated.
