Ukraine’s president has pledged to purge corrupt officers and people discovered to be serving to Russia.

Volodymyr Zelensky spoke after the arrest of a army recruitment determine accused of mass embezzlement and an MP stated to be collaborating with the invader.

The anti-corruption push is seen as key in gaining European Union and Nato membership.

Mr Zelensky pledged to audit army draft places of work, telling TV viewers that unusual Ukrainians who help the warfare effort had been enraged by corrupt practices.

Local media stated his household had purchased property in Spain.

And officers stated parliamentarian Oleksandr Ponomaryov had been arrested on suspicion of ­treason. He was refused bail.

The lawmaker is suspected of ­collaborating with Russia within the occupied south-east.

Ponomaryov was elected for a now-banned occasion accused of Kremlin ties. He has denied collaborating with Moscow prior to now.
