Lethal fuel leak kills 11 and leaves extra in hospital
At least 11 individuals have died after a fuel leak in India. A staff from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been on the website on Sunday. Police have been seen patrolling whereas carrying masks and asking locals to avoid the world that has been cordoned off. The fuel leak came about in Ludhiana within the northern Indian state of Punjab.
Bhagwant Mann, Punjab’s chief minister, expressed disappointment over the lethal leak.
“The incident of gas leak in the factory in Giaspura area of Ludhiana is very sad,” Mann stated in a tweet. “Police, government and NDRF teams are present at the spot. All possible help is being provided.”
Ludhiana Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik advised reporters the deaths have been a probable results of “gas contamination”.
“It is quite likely that maybe some chemical reacted with methane in manholes,” she was quoted as saying by ANI. “… All of this is being verified. NDRF is retrieving samples.”
