Russian ammo depot in flames after large explosion rocks Crimea following miss…

Footage has appeared which reportedly exhibits the aftermath of a missile hitting a depot in Crimea. The video posted on Twitter exhibits a big plume of smoke over the Crimaean village of Vilne. Express.co.uk is making an attempt to confirm the clip which appeared on-line on Monday.

A Twitter person tweeted the clip at 5.54am from an account named Aurora Borealis together with the caption: “Missiles hit the ammo depot near the village of #Vilne, #Crimea”.

The similar footage was shared by Twitter account Special Kherson Cat at 7.21am on Monday with the person writing: “For the third time in the past week, an attack on Russian military depots in Crimea has been reported.

“This time, ammunition depots have been reportedly attacked close to the village of Vilne. ~155km from the entrance line.”

Express.co.uk has not been able to independently verify the footage.

It is as yet unclear when Monday’s footage was recorded, but it comes after Crimea was rocked by two huge explosions on Saturday in a suspected drone attack by Ukraine.

The Moscow-installed leader of the region Sergei Aksyonov reported the drone attack succeeded in striking an ammunition depot but there were no known casualties.

Mr Aksyonov wrote on Telegram: “As a results of an enemy drone on the Krasnogvardeisky district, there was a detonation at an ammunition depot.”

He added a decision was taken to evacuate people living within five kilometres of the zone, but did not specify which location was hit.

The Krasnogvardeisky district lies inland at the centre of the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, which was illegally annexed by Russia in 2014.
