Capaldi, 26, apologised to followers in an announcement posted on Twitter, telling his 1.4 million followers: “I have not been dwelling since Christmas and for the time being I’m struggling to familiarize yourself with all of it.
“I need to take a moment to rest and recover, to be at my best and ready for Glastonbury and all the other incredible shows coming up, so that I’m able to continue doing what I love for a long time to come.
“I have to take these three weeks to be Lewis from Glasgow for a bit, spend a while with my household and pals and do regular life issues which can be an necessary a part of me feeling higher.
“I hope everyone understands.”
He shared the assertion together with a heartbroken emoji on Monday night – including that he was “extremely sorry” to his many followers who “spent money on travel or hotels, which I appreciate more than ever with how difficult things are economically at the moment”.
Capaldi’s cancelled performances embody making his debut on the Capital Summertime Ball, because of happen on Sunday 11 June at Wembley Stadium.
