US remake of Mock The Week greenlit by Amazon
US remake of standard topical comedy present Mock The Week has been greenlit by Amazon.
It can be executive-produced by former host of The Daily Show Trevor Noah, and the present’s authentic creator Dan Patterson.
The BBC comedy present, hosted by comic Dara O Briain, ran for 17 years till it was decommissioned in 2022.
The half-hour panel programme featured two groups of comedians taking satirical swipes at present news, popular culture, and world occasions by way of a mix of stand-up comedy and improvised video games.
The UK collection featured common appearances from comedians Hugh Dennis, Frankie Boyle, Russell Howard, Andy Parsons, Ed Gamble and Nish Kumar.
Amazon Freevee, Amazon’s free streaming service, introduced a collection pick-up for a US remake of the present on Monday, with manufacturing set to start in 2024.
A bunch can be introduced at a later date.

Throughout its time on the air, Mock The Week aired a complete of 232 episodes, and featured 131 comedians.
The first episodes aired in June 2005 and through the years featured comedy stars together with Boyle, Howard, Chris Addison and Rory Bremner.
The US model of Mock The Week can be government produced by Patterson, Noah, Mark Leveson, Norman Aladjem, Sanaz Yamin, Derek Van Pelt, and Rob Lee.
The collection is produced by Angst Productions, Day Zero Productions, Mainstay Entertainment, and Amazon Studios.
