A former police officer has been jailed after he sexually assaulted a colleague whereas on responsibility.

PC Archit Sharma’s crime, which occurred on 7 December 2020, was referred to as a “betrayal” by a senior officer.

Following an investigation, he was charged on 28 July 2021.

Sharma – who was hooked up to the North Area Command Unit – was convicted of sexual assault at Wood Green Crown Court on 6 March. He resigned 4 days later.
